The first episode of the “New World” shows how the Russian diaspora lives in South Africa, why the country’s main memorial is dedicated to the Soviet military, why T–shirts saying “Moscow” have become popular among local youth and how the only Orthodox church in South Africa was built.

Russia and South Africa have long-standing historical ties. The team of the “New World” project went on a journey to show you the value of these unique ties and mutual enrichment. The first episode is dedicated to the friendship between Russia and the Republic of South Africa. Speakers in the film are co-owner of the safari park, archpriest of the only Orthodox church in South Africa Daniel Lugovoy, press attache of the Russian Embassy in South Africa, Honorary Consul of South Africa in St. Petersburg and others.
